We’ve been noting the rise of the tiled kitchen island for some time. When Margot lately stayed at her associates’ stylish Berkshires residence and noticed that they, too, had a tiled kitchen island, we knew we had a official pattern on our fingers. Beneath, some examples we’re notably taken with.

Above: Margot’s pal, Lara Holtz, was impressed to have her personal tiled-all-over kitchen island after recognizing one in a London residence. She notably loves “the distinction between the exhausting poured concrete flooring and the natural high quality of the zellige tiles that are handcrafted and uneven,” she says. As for upkeep? “It’s not as straightforward to wash as a clean Corian worktop could be—however with dish cleaning soap, water, and a J Material, it cleans very nicely.” {Photograph} by Margot Guralnick.
