For the many people with mid-August blues: Summer time has barely begun at Menorca Experimental, a resort designed by Remodelista favourite Dorothée Meilichzon. Set on a former finca, or agricultural property, on the Spanish island of Menorca, the appealingly low-key different to neighboring Mallorca and Ibiza, the lodge was created from a Palladian-style, cliff-top home and cluster of whitewashed farm villas.

All have been reconceived by Meilichzon, who runs her personal Paris design studio, Chzon, as a dream agroturismo retreat: the type of place Picasso, Miró, and cronies would go to dwell it up within the solar. The outcomes are each grand and playful—and crammed with happiness-inducing particulars and earthy colours we wish to apply at dwelling. Be part of us for a tour.

The Resort

Above: Constructed for a navy captain on the flip of the nineteenth century, the primary construction sits amid groves of pine and juniper on almost 75 acres overlooking the Mediterranean (the seaside is a ten minute stroll down the hill). It’s now dwelling to indoor and out of doors eating places, a cocktail lounge, and 34 visitor rooms.

Menorca Experimental is the sixth lodge created by the Paris-based Experimental Group; Meilichzon is married to considered one of its three founders—all of them met as college students—and he or she herself, at 36, has seven top-to-bottom lodge designs to her credit score (see Paris’s Resort des Grands Boulevards and The Henrietta in London), plus a brand new Experimental Group property about to open in Venice.
